Q: What does the word ‘yoga’ mean?
A: There are many definitions of the word ‘yoga’: ‘to come together,’ ‘to unite,’ ‘union,’ ‘acting as intended,’ ‘attentiveness,’ ‘to yoke together,’ ‘to tie strands together.’ The purpose of yoga is the union of the body, mind and spirit.
Q: Do I have to tie myself in a knot to do Yoga?
A: No! Yoga is suitable for all ages and abilities. If you are breathing, you can practice yoga! The goal is to find a class format and a teacher that suits you and your goals.

A: The muscle memory created from each class lasts approximately 48 hours. So, ideally, 2 or more times a week depending upon the individual’s wants and needs.

A: Loose or form-fitted clothing is usually best. The most important thing is to be comfortable. Also, please keep perfume and cologne use to a minimum.

A: If possible, try to eat at least an hour and a half before class so that the stomach is empty.

A: Yoga enhances and complements ability. Most sports build muscular strength and stamina, often in specific areas of the body. Yoga helps to check any imbalance in muscular development, and will enable both the body and mind to function more efficiently. If the body is flexible and supple, less sports injuries occur, as joints are more lubricated.
